Caractéristiques
- Par rapport aux jantes à crochet, les jantes sans crochet Giant ont une largeur interne plus élevée, ce qui permet à un pneu de plus petite section et donc plus léger d’avoir le même volume qu’un pneu de section supérieure, donc plus lourd, ce qui se traduit par un gain de poids.
- Le design sans crochet est réalisé grâce à un processus de fabrication innovant se traduisant par une utilisation en continu de la fibre de carbone. Ce processus améliore la rigidité et augmente la résistance aux chocs sans ajout de poids par rapport à la gamme SLR actuelle.
- Les jantes sans crochet aident également à créer un ballon plus rond, offrant une adhérence et une maniabilité supérieures, ainsi qu’une sécurité accrue dans les virages.
- Le profil de jante de 65 mm avec une largeur interne de 22,4mm, en plus d’offrir une trainée dans l’air moins importante, il assure également une transition plus fluide du flux d’air du pneu à la jante, réduisant la perte aérodynamique globale

Hookless Rim Design
LIGHTWEIGHT PERFORMANCE
Compared with hook-type rims, Giant’s new hookless design has a wider inner rim width, allowing a smaller, lighter tire to have the same volume as a larger, heavier tire, resulting in a lighter overall weight.
ENHANCED DURABILITY
Giant’s hookless rim design is realized through an innovative manufacturing process that results in a more continuous carbon fiber structure. This process enhances durability and increases impact resistance with no weight penalty.
CONFIDENT HANDLING
Hookless rims help create a more round tire shape that provides superior grip and handling as well as added sidewall support when cornering.
AERO ADVANTAGE
Without the rim hook to “push” the tire bead inward, Giant's hookless rim design offers a more seamless airflow between the tire and the sidewall of the rim, resulting in less drag and improved aero performance when compared to standard hook-type rims.
High TG Resin
Giant’s proprietary High Glass Transition Temperature (Tg) resin helps produce a brake track that withstands the higher heat caused by heavy rim braking, enhancing the rim’s longterm durability and braking performance.
Dynamic Balanced Lacing
Since its introduction in 2015, Dynamic Balanced Lacing (DBL) has been the cornerstone of Giant WheelSystems. DBL ensures that spokes are set for optimal tension when under dynamic load, resulting in enhanced durability and pedaling efficiency. The enlarged DBL hub flange also increases the spoke bracing angles, which boosts overall torsional/transmission and lateral stiffness for better power transfer and more stable sprinting.
Optimized Carbon Layup
Through high-tensile strength carbon fiber placed at the most crucial points and tested with Finite Element Analysis (FEA), Giant’s engineers overcame the challenge of building wheels that are as durable as they are lightweight. With industry leading stiffness, ride compliance and strength all at the lightest weight possible, the new SLR WheelSystems are fast and strong.
